On Thursday 19 November, the Living Wage Lab celebrated its five years existence. In a one-off live broadcast, experts on living wage and living income spoke on different topics, varying from some practical business examples to the government perspective and a view on the future.

The event, which was moderated by Lea Esterhuizen from &Wider, started off with an interview with the initiators of the Lab: Sander de Jong, Managing Director from Fairfood, and Caroline Wildeman, Programme Manager of the Women@Work Campaign at Hivos.*  Then we moved to Malawi, where Bernard Mphepo from Centre for Social Concern spoke about the Living Wage Lab in Malawi.

The event was a mix of live interviews and pre-recorded videos. In one of these recorded videos, Sander Reuderink from Trabocca spoke how they incorporate the topic of living wage in their company.

Live in KIT, where the event took place, was Noura Hanna. She is an expert on livelihoods and worker's rights, who shared with us her reflections of living wages in international trade and a strong call of action for what needs to happen next.

You can find all the videos here.
