The Living Wage & Income Lab is back at the Amsterdam Cocoa Week. And this time, Fairfood, IDH, and the Living Income Community of Practice (LICOP) teamed up to tackle a key question: where must we move the needle to ensure existing actions and collaborations lead to living incomes in the cocoa industry?
Be part of this dynamic afternoon session during the Amsterdam Cocoa Week, where we’ll dive into the state of the cocoa sector and its progress toward achieving living incomes for farmers.
Ahead of the Chocoa Conference, you can join us at the Beurs Van Berlage in Amsterdam to hear real-world examples of how regulations like the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) are reshaping company strategies, discuss joint solutions to enhance cocoa farmers’ resilience, and explore what’s needed to create an enabling environment for meaningful change.
The session will be split in three moments:
- State of the Sector, a look into existing collaborations and initiatives
- Farm and Value Chain Strategies, with examples from different supply chain actors
- Building the Enabling Environment, with speakers from the EU Commission, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Voice Network
Co-hosted by Fairfood, IDH, and the Living Income Community of Practice, this special edition of the Living Wage & Income Lab features insights from civil society, farmer organisations, industry leaders, and government representatives. Speakers will be announced soon!
What to expect:
- Farm and Value Chain Strategies: Explore how procurement practices are evolving from ‘nice to have’ to necessities, as mandated by CSDDD. Learn about collaborative approaches to tackle systemic challenges like child labour and deforestation.
- Fostering an Enabling Environment: Discuss why record-high cocoa prices still fail to benefit farmers. Delve into pre-competitive collaborations that integrate climate resilience and adaptation into living income strategies.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with key stakeholders and help move the needle toward fairer, more sustainable cocoa supply chains.
